VICKI & SIMON - BOVEY CASTLE, DEVON (PREVIEW)
WEDDING VIDEOGRAPHY
VICKI & SIMON, BOVEY CASTLE, DEVON
Wow. Just Wow.
Last weekend I had the absolute honour of shooting the wedding of Vicki and Simon at the incredible Bovey Castle, Devon. I've visited Bovey Castle before but this was my first opportunity to film a wedding there. And what a delight it was. It truly is a stunning venue, nestled in beautiful dartmoor, and I knew from the outset that I needed to try something quite unique for this wedding film.
The weather was very kind to us on the day with light winds and despite looking like it could rain at any time, it held off. Instead we were blessed with sunny spells and some really stormy, dramatic skies. PERFECT for a moody, dramatic wedding film. With this in mind, and considering it was very much an emotive day, I decided to heap on loads of weight and drama for their film. The result is a film that is quite unique compared with my previous works.
I always edit a wedding film based on what kind of day it was. Despite popular belief, every single wedding is different. Some are more emotional than others, some more sentimental, others more of a party, for example. The overall feel and tone of the day is ultimately what dictates how I approach the post-production edit stage, and which direction I take the film in.
Simon and Vicki, as well as their friends and family were just fantastic. A lovely group of people and I'd like to say a big thanks to them for allowing me to be part of their special day. I've had some amazing feedback from them which just reaffirms my believe that being a wedding videographer really is the best job in the world. Thank you all.
I hope you enjoy their highlights film!
