MEG & TOM

Meg & Tom's wedding day was very, very special. Meg, from Washington DC, met Tom in London and the rest as they say, is history.

I travelled up to Chipping Norton, Oxfordshire on what was an extremely wet and stormy Autumn day. The morning of the wedding, I already had to leave Devon pretty early, but I was awoken at around 5am to what sounded like a hurricane outside. Not liking the look of it at all (trees blowing horizontally) I decided to get myself up and make it an even earlier start, as I expected to have to take the journey very steady. After a rather wild drive and even being blown into the hard shoulder on the motorway by a massive gust, I eventually got to my destination safe and sound!

Meg and Tom had chosen the lovely Merriscourt for their wedding. A beautiful barn conversion wedding venue on the edge of the Cotswolds, in the Oxfordshire countryside. The venue has so much to offer and despite the genuinely atrocious weather, in my opinion it just seemed to make it cosier! Everyone of course hopes for a bright sunny wedding day, however concerns about the (very) bad weather soon passed when we realised it would actually add a lot to the mood and feel of the day. It certainly adds a lot of drama to the wedding video, and it also had the benefit of keeping the wedding party together on the day.

The American & British contingents the day very special. It was lovely to welcome the USA folk to Blighty for what was a beautifully traditional English wedding. The chaps didn’t even let the Rugby World Cup Final result overshadow anything whatsoever!

Here’s a preview of their day. Featuring a lovely little quote/reading from "everyone's favourite movie", Love Actually. Here's Meg & Tom's real life love story!
