FULL FEATURE FILM - KATHERINE & JUBIN

WEDDING VIDEOGRAPHY DEVON

HUNTSHAM COURT, DEVON

KATHERINE & JUBIN

For obvious reasons, I haven't posted a wedding feature film for a while. What a sad year it’s been so far. All the more reason to share something uplifting, hey?

Here’s Katherine & Jubin's amazing winter wedding at Huntsham Court Country House, Devon in January.

Winter weddings can be challenging from a filmmaking perspective, due to short daylight hours, they require some additional planning and careful thought about timings. But they can also be very unique, cosy, and intimate. What a day this was. Rammed full of so much emotion, amazing speeches, beautiful words from the Priest and a thumping party to finish. So many personal touches and people coming together from all over the world to celebrate, and I absolutely loved the Indian contingent and Hindi touches. Kat & Jubin were absolutely awesome to work with too. What a treat!

The day began with wedding preparations at Huntsham Court. The first thing I do when I wake up on the morning of a wedding is open my curtains and look outside. So I looked outside and it was one of those crisp, frosty, January mornings. Stunning. Some of my favourite weather (apart from having to defrost the car). It was a sign of things to come as the weather was sublime all day long, a genuinely magical winter’s day.

After capturing the bridal party getting ready, it was time to head up to Taunton, Somerset for the ceremony. It was a Catholic ceremony, and the Priest was, well, basically a legend. He had so many wise words for the couple and even managed to squeeze Quantum Physics and Albert Einstein into his sermon. That’s a first for me! But it was superb. One thing I find very important in the production of my films is some great dialogue. Something deep and profound. So the priest’s words gave me plenty of magic juice to work with, as you can see from the short preview I put together for them!

Catholic ceremonies can be lengthy, so after the “I do’s” we raced back to Huntsham just in the nick of time, as the sun was just about to dip below the hills. We quickly whipped the bride and groom away for a couple shoot, and captured some stunning footage of them in beautiful golden light. Perfect.

After a gorgeous wedding breakfast and amazing speeches, the day was finished off by a thumping party courtesy of local devon function band, MAMMOTH.

All in all, it was an incredible day. Anyone who uses a camera professionally will tell you that their job relies on light, therefore winter weddings can make you a little bit more nervous than normal. But Katherine & Jubin’s day just goes to show how absolutely cracking a winter wedding can be. I’d like to say a huge thank you to them, and wish them all the very best for their new life in sunny California. Alright for some!

Here is their preview film, and full feature film. Enjoy!
